Equity is not sameness. It is not uniformity. It’s that we all have a vested interest in a cause and have equal ability to get a seat at the table and make a difference. Equity is fairness. Equity is non-exclusive.

Our group began in 2012 as Women in Architecture with 7 graduate students. We have grown to 30 graduate and undergraduate students and our numbers are on the rise.

Active member numbers since Women in Architecture was founded by 7 graduate students.

In January of 2019, we changed our organization name to Equity in Architecture, with goals of expanding our reach to multiple identities, promoting equity and unity as our core mission. Rather than exclude, divide, or fraction a profession that is already low in numbers, we look forward to more inclusion.
